The Story

This was one of those layouts where I tried something new.  While out shopping a couple of weeks ago, Mom and I ran into a bottle of Ranger’s Crackle Accents on clearance at Hobby Lobby.  I have long been tempted to try this product on for size, but have always decided against it because I can create the crackle effect with Ultra Thick Embossing Powder and the freezer (and I don’t use the technique often).  Clearance is clearance, however, so the bottle of Crackle Accents found its way home with me.  I was originally going to use Glossy Accents on this page, but when I couldn’t easily lay my hands on the bottle I decided to use the Crackle Accents instead.  I am not overly thrilled with the effect it gave,  the paper warped a bit and because the accents I put it on where already glued on to the page there was little I could do to counteract this effect.  Let me know how you like the effect or your experiences using Crackle Accents.  I will have to try using this product again to see if my dissatisfaction with this product was all in user error.

  • I really love the vintage-y  papers that Echo Park makes (of course, I love everything Echo Park makes…), and For the Record was no exception.  After getting it home, however, I really worried about how I was going to use it with all my kiddo pages… Mixing this paper with some old embellishments from my stash (and when I say old, I mean OLD) really helped me create a neat page in which I could reflect on the relationship between Averie and Calen.
